Do you require a deposit?
No deposit on standard bookings. Same-day and last-minute bookings may require a deposit, confirmed with your quote. That is the whole policy, and the quote itself is free.
Can my final bill exceed the estimate?
No: you will not be charged more than the original estimate you approved. The written figure works as a cap, which is why we ask about access, stairs and inventory before quoting rather than after.
What is California Double Drive Time?
California Double Drive Time is a state billing rule for hourly moves: the drive between your old and new address counts double inside the hourly total. It applies to our moves over 10 miles, and we write it into the estimate up front, never onto the invoice afterward.
Do you offer same-day or last-minute moves?
Yes: same-day and last-minute moves run seven days a week, 8am to 8pm, subject to crew availability. Same-day and last-minute bookings may require a deposit, confirmed with your quote.
Can I reschedule my move for free?
Yes, rescheduling is free on standard bookings. Call or text (818) 391-8215 as soon as your date changes and we rebook the crew.
What materials are included at no extra cost?
Included at no extra cost: door shields, floor runners, up to 8 loaner wardrobe boxes, speed-pack boxes, ramps and straps, unlimited wrap and tape, and thick moving blankets. Materials are part of the job, not a line item.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. AG Moving&Storage is fully licensed and insured: USDOT 3610341 · CA 602741 · MC 1525501. We print the numbers in the footer of every page so you can verify them independently before you book.
What areas do you serve?
We serve 34 owner-confirmed cities and areas across Los Angeles County, Orange County and an outer ring reaching Riverside, Temecula and Oceanside, from a base in Norwalk, CA. The full list, with local pages for six cities, lives on the service-areas page.
Do you disconnect or reconnect appliances?
We move appliances; we do not disconnect or reconnect them. Have washers, dryers and refrigerators disconnected before the crew arrives, and your own installer handle the far end.
How much do local movers typically cost?
Local movers typically bill by the hour, and the real total depends on crew size, hours and access, which is why we quote instead of publishing ranges. Our structure: 2 movers and a 24-ft truck as the baseline, $40 per hour per extra mover, materials included, and a free written estimate that caps the bill.
What are the hidden costs of 2 hour movers?
Hidden costs with hourly movers usually mean materials sold by the roll, surprise stair or long-carry fees, and drive time added after the job. With us the materials come included, we ask about access at quote time, and the written estimate works as a cap.
What is the cheapest day for movers?
A mid-month weekday is generally the calmest time to book movers anywhere, because leases and escrows stack up at month-end. Our rate structure does not change by the day, seven days a week, so a quiet day buys you schedule room rather than a discount.
Is $100 per mover a good tip?
A tip is welcome and always your call. Our guidance is 15-30% of the job total (AG Moving&Storage guidance, 2026), split across the crew; against that range, $100 per mover is generous on a short local job and reasonable on a full day.
How much to tip on $500 move?
On a $500 move our 15-30% guidance (AG Moving&Storage, 2026) works out to $75 to $150, split across the crew. Tipping is entirely optional; round to what the day deserved.
What does a packing service include?
A packing service includes the crew, the materials and the method: paper, wrap, tape, speed-pack boxes and loaner wardrobe boxes, packed room by room and labeled. You can add unpacking, and packing can ride along with your move or stand alone as its own booking.
Is it worth paying for packing?
Paying for packing earns its keep when time is short or the fragile load is large: a practiced crew packs in hours what a household spreads over days, with materials included in the price. For a small place with flexible dates, packing yourself and booking labor for the heavy day can be the better split. The free estimate prices both ways.
How much does it cost to store furniture with a moving company?
We quote furniture storage as part of the move, not as a separate rental: we pick up, store and redeliver, short or long term, with climate-controlled space available. One written estimate covers the move out, the storage stretch and the redelivery.
Is it cheaper to use pods or a moving company?
Pods look cheaper on the sticker because you do the loading, and the comparison changes once you count your time, the rental period and the monthly storage fees. With a moving company you get the crew, the truck and one written figure; with us that figure is a cap, and crew-handled storage replaces the container in the driveway. Get the written quote and compare totals, not teasers.
What items will two men and a truck not move?
A two-mover crew handles the standard household: furniture, boxes, appliances. Pianos, pool tables, hot tubs and safes need a bigger plan, and we take them on as part of your full household or office move with the right crew size quoted up front. We move appliances; we do not disconnect or reconnect them.
How much should a long-distance move cost?
For long-distance moving in California, cost rides on distance, inventory and crew hours rather than a flat menu, so the honest number is the one on a written estimate. Our long-distance work stays within California, priced quote-first with the same cap: you will not be charged more than the original estimate.
